Signature Renovations was the prime contractor for the Design-Build repair to corroded reinforcing steel and refurbish the deteriorated structural concrete in Columbia Plaza parking garage and loading dock which is prominently located westerly of the White House and just a few blocks from JFK Center, the Watergate Complex and is surrounded by apartment buildings.

The Signature team performed survey to determine the extent of the concrete repairs necessary to refurbish the Columbia Plaza parking garage and loading dock. Included as a minimum; Sounding & Mark-Out of All Exposed Concrete, Chloride Ion Testing, Compressive Strength Coring, Produce Quantity Summary for Report Submission, Analysis of Condition Survey, Developed Condition Survey Report, and Quality Control Review of Condition Survey Report Documentation.

Lead paint was identified in yellow paint on the curbs and was abated following OSHA requirements, and the hazardous lead waste was containerized in a 55-gallon steel drum with locking lids and disposed of in accordance with EPA regulations.

Civil construction to repair the loading doc, garage slabs and wall cracks included the topside and full depth replacement cast in place concrete, overhead patch repair was polymer-modified, trowel-applied concrete.  All concrete reinforcement splices were a minimum of 40 bar diameter, including splices of supplemental reinforcement.
