What We Teach

Working in collaboration with ABC of Metro DC, Signature-Renovations will put its 20+ years of experience to work delivering a broad-based curriculum of training that will fully prepare students for the modern construction industry. Areas of training will include:

  • Tools and equipment
  • OSHA-certified training
  • CPR and first aid
  • Contract quality control
  • Building materials and handling
  • Construction building and sequencing
  • Multi-level plan and specification reading
  • Professionalism
  • Rough and finish carpentry
  • Drywall finishing and painting
  • Intro to telecom / low-voltage
  • Introduction of electrical
  • Introduction to HVAC / plumbing
  • Waste management and recycling
  • Sustainability and LEED
  • Green construction

Our goal for every Signature-Renovations apprentice is not simply to graduate but to be fully capable of charting their own career and, ideally, mentoring others in the same way. It’s good for them, it’s good for their families, and it’s good for the community.

Full-Time Employment

Every apprentice is immediately granted status as a full-time employee with weekly wages and benefits.

Hourly Wages & Benefits

All apprentices receive a competitive hourly wage along with benefits including medical insurance and 401K.

Graduate Income

Skilled program graduates will receive increases in hourly wages after the 6 – 12 month mark.

Career Paths

Graduates will have the flexibility to choose ancillary career tracks that may better suit their abilities, interests, and personalities including:

  • Quality Control Manager
  • Site Safety and Health Officer
  • Foreman / Field Assistant
  • Assistant Superintendent
  • Superintendent
  • Project Administrator
